Plastics Creep & Plastics Tensile Strength Testing

All plastics including those that are reinforced have a propensity to creep under stress. The degree of creep is dependent on the material, the load, the temperature and the time under stress. Tensile Creep and Creep Rupture of Plastics

Tensile creep is the preferred method for rupture tests because some ductile plastics cannot rupture in flexural or compression mode. Polyhedron Laboratories has six load frames with variable temperature and load capabilities along with appropriate strain transducers. Creep testing can then be customized according to specific requirements.
