Polyhedron Laboratories is a known worldwide as a plastics, polymer, rubber analysis, testing and research laboratory. Polyhedron’s capabilities include identification, thermal, mechanical, physical, electrical, and optical testing of plastics, polymers, coatings and rubber. Failure analysis capabilities consist of the systematic application of testing methods and polymer chemistry principles to determine the cause of the failure. In addition, Polyhedron Laboratories offers organic synthesis by combinatorial and parallel methods, including accelerated discovery of organic reactions and products by automated high-speed methodology. Aging and service life testing is also available; this is accomplished through the exposure of materials and products to accelerated aging or environmental conditions, with appropriate monitoring of chemical and/or physical changes. Polyhedron also has lab extrusion compounding, with the preparation of research quantities of custom-formulated plastic compositions for evaluation of their properties.
Many other tests and services are offered at Polyhedron Laboratories, including accelerated weathering, tensile testing, chemical analysis, solvent extraction, additive testing, SEM analysis, fiberglass testing, plastic chemical resistance, and creep testing. Other capabilities offered are headspace analysis, film testing, differential scanning calorimetry, infrared analysis, packaging testing and coating analysis, to name a few. In fact, Polyhedron has the ability to perform thousands of standard test and chemical reactions, as well as conduct research projects and special studies.
